Fight Started in 9th Grade Building
According to information provided by the CCSO, on Feb 2nd a fight started between 2 females in the 9th-grade building. During that fight, a 3rd person joined the fight.
At some point during the fight with the 3 females – 2 juveniles and 1 adult – one of the females deployed pepper spray on the other two students.
ECHS staff were able to break up the fight, at that point the student that had deployed the pepper spray was isolated from the others in the media room. While in the media room the student that was being isolated was approached by a student that was uninvolved in the fight – at that point the student deployed the pepper spray on that student, which resulted in those 2 fighting.
Juvenile Complaints Stemming From the Incident
According to the CCSO Juvenile Complaints have been filed on 3 females involved in the incident, charging them with Affray, Reckless Conduct, and Disruption of a Public School.
Due to their age, their identity will not be made public.
Adult Student Arrested, Charged
Shatell Dominique Chapman, who is 18, was arrested at the school and transported to the Coweta County Jail.
Chapman was booked on charges of Affray and Disruption of a Public School.
