Stabbing Leads to Arrest of Local Women

Assaulted in Coweta, Victim Calls for Help in Fayette

In the earlier morning hours of September 26th, 911 received a call from Fayette County dispatch stating they had received a call from someone located off Buffalo Road off Highway 54 just east of Peachtree City.

Their caller stated that they had been stabbed at a residence off Riverside Way in Sharpsburg and had named an aggressor in the assault. A Coweta County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the address given by the victim for a welfare check. The Deputy was unable to make contact with anyone at the residence.

In the interim, an investigator with the CCSO went to the location where the victim was located to gather more information.

Suspect arrested for Aggravated Assualt

On September 30th, the suspect named by the victim, Kristen Marie Young, 20, of Sharpsburg, was arrested and booked into the Coweta County Jail.

The victim, who remains unnamed, is said to be doing ok. Information leads us to believe that the person that Young stabbed was known to her, possibly in an intimate manner.

The fact that Young has been charged in Coweta County confirms that the Assualt occurred within Coweta County, possibly the location named by the victim which is the address on file for Young.

Kristen Marie Young was booked into the Coweta County Jail on September 30th for the following charges:

Assault Aggravated with Other Weapon – Felony

with a $1,500 bail. As of the time of writing, she is no longer listed as an inmate at the jail.
