Third Suspect Arrested in February Car Jacking

Suspect Arrested for February 2022 Car Jacking

Kobe Elijah Perry,  22, of Fairburn was arrested by Fairburn PD on a warrant out of Coweta County, stemming from his role in an Armed Robbery that took place February 5th, 2022 off West Wedgewood Circle in west Newnan.

Just after 11 PM on the 5th, 911 dispatched CCSO deputies for a burglary in progress with possible shots fired. The caller stated that his son’s car had been stolen and that his son had been shot at. He also informed dispatch that there were guns in the vehicle.

Deputies arrived quickly and during their investigation learned that the vehicle stolen was a 2018 Silver Dodge Challenger with a “scat pack” including black racing stripes and a hood scoop.

According to the victim, 3 black males had stolen the vehicle, at one point shooting at his son from inside the vehicle. He also stated that he still had the key fab ( meaning the next time the vehicle was turned off it would not be able to be turned back on ) and that it had a 1/4 tank of gas.

Law enforcement officers sent a BOLO to CCSO and NPD units along with surrounding counties. They concluded their investigation that night and there’s been no update until Godfrey’s arrest.
