\\ Assault Reported - NHS Cross Country Track Meet
80 Block of Sewell Rd
Just after 8 AM this morning, E911 was contacted by a member of the administration at Newnan High School reporting an assault that had just occurred two students during a Cross Country track meet taking place off Sewell Rd.
Multiple officers quickly arrived on scene and located the victim, who had injuries and was treated on scene by EMS, and after a short period began searching for the suspect - another student - in the nearby area.
The student was located and after further investigation radio traffic notes an arrest was made and suspect was transported for medical clearance before being taking to the Coweta County Jail.
The exact age and identity of the suspect and victim are unknown at this time, I've reached out for additional information and will update as more becomes available.
