Lagrange St at Watson Drive
Newnan Police Department units are currently in this area after responding to an unknown problem / person down call.
When they arrived they located a male victim lying on the ground that was suffering from serious injuries.
It seems the individual may have been hit by a vehicle that left the scene.
Working on getting additional details regarding the incident and the status of the victim.
Avoid the area as officers continue to investigate the incident - I believe at least one lane is closed at this time.

UPDATE | 04:57 PM | ALL SUSPECTS ARE IN CUSTODY.
Things are quite fluid at this point but it sounds like 3 juvenile males ( all in custody and positively ID'd as the suspects ) robbed 2 other juveniles at gunpoint for their belongings in the area of Firehouse Subs at the edge of Ashley Park.
At least one firearm has been recovered at this time.
They than were spotted by witnesses running towards Olive Garden, across the bypass, and towards Urban Air before being caught and detained by police in the parking lot behind the shopping center behind Urban Air and Target.
No injuries have been reported.

An armed robbery has been reported at the Firehouse Subs in ashley park, 3 suspects, black males, at least one with dreads, last seen running across the bypass and parking lots towards Urban Air. All are supposedly armed.

The suspects are juveniles, and it sounds like at least one firearm has been retrieved.
It sounds like this was a group of 3 males that committed armed robbery against 2 other males in the area of Firehouse Subs. All seem to be juveniles.

The suspects have been positively ID'd as those detained by officers.

Units were able to respond to the area behind target very quickly after the initial call was received as that was the direction witnesses stated the 3 suspects were running in.
3 black males matching the general description were quickly detained by CCSO and NPD units as they ran behind the building.
Units are now working with employees to confirm those are the suspects, while other units continue to circle the area keeping a lookout incase they turn out not to be.
A witness is telling my the suspects they saw looked to be juveniles.

Timberbrook Dr & Hwy 34 East - In the area of 7 Brew Coffee
Just before 7 AM this morning, E911 received a call regarding an unresponsive male that witnesses stated had been struck by a falling tree in the tree line of the parking lot of this location.
Fire & EMS as well as nearby officers were dispatched to the scene while E911 provided guidance to the callers who attempted CPR on the individual.
Unfortunately their efforts were unsuccessful and the male passed away at the scene.
The exact circumstances are under investigation.

\\ Former CCSO SRO Michael McGuffey Indicted on CSA charges
Former Coweta County Sheriff's Office ( CCSO ) Deputy and Smokey Road Middle School SRO Michael McGuffey was indicted on 5 counts of CSA related charges by a Coweta County Grand Jury on August 11th, 2026. On August 13th, McGuffey turned himself into the Coweta County Jail on an arrest warrant issued that same day by the court.
