\\ Human Remains Located off Ashley Park Blvd

On Friday, August 21st, E911 was notified by an individual that they'd located what they believed to be human bones in a wooded area off Ashley Park Blvd in Newnan. Units with the Newnan Police Department were dispatched to the location where they met the reporting party and were taken to what the bones that were located in what is described in the report as a "campsite".

Investigation

Once units were able to able to take a look at the bones located by the caller, a death investigation was launched and the Newnan Police Department Criminal Investigations Division was requested to process the scene.

Once the scene had been processed the Coweta County Coroner's Office was notified and they responded to the scene to remove the remains.

Identity

While the identity of the remains has not yet been released, however according to the report it's believed to be a Black Male in their 30's that was a resident of the "camp".

The report also indicates investigators do not believe foul play was involved.
