Early morning accident off Old Carrollton Rd leaves driver with serious injuries
The vehicle left the road way striking a deep ditch just after 6AM this morning.
Coweta County E911 received a call just after 6AM this morning stating that a vehicle had gone off the road near 1252 Old Carrollton Highway in Northern Coweta County.
Units arrived on scene and found the driver trapped in a silver Mercedes. After being extricated the driver was taken via ground ambulance to Tanner Medical Center.
The following preliminary information was provided by the Georgia State Patrol PIO.
Vehicle #1 was traveling south on Old Carrollton Rd near the driveway of 1252 Old Carrollton Hwy. The driver of Vehicle #1 failed to maintain lane and crossed the center line. Vehicle #1 continued south and traveled off the east edge of the roadway. Vehicle #1 struck the bottom of the ditch with its left front bumper, overturned, and struck a fence before coming to a final uncontrolled rest. Area of impact was off the east edge of the roadway.
The condition of the driver is unknown at this time and the final GSP report is not yet available. We will update as more information becomes available.
