Pedestrian hit and killed while walking on interstate overnight
The pedestrian was apparently walking in the right lane when he was hit by a passing tractor trailer
Just after 4 AM this morning, March 27th, Coweta County E911 received a call from the driver of a large delivery truck stating that he was traveling northbound on I85 around mile marker 40 and believed that he’d hit someone walking in the right lane.
The driver had stopped, and while on the phone with 911 was able to locate the male that had been hit.
Units arrived shortly after the initial call and located a male that was deceased. It is currently unknown why the male was walking on the roadway and his identity has not been released.
The Georgia State Patrol is the investigating agency, as of right now no arrests have been made.
