The April 8th, 2022, murder of Tommy and Evelyn Hawk, as well as their teenage grandson Alexander “Luke” Hawk, shook the community to the core.

Tommy and Evelyn Hawk were well known and respected members of the Coweta County community and owners of the Lock Stock & Barrel Shooting Range located off Bohannon Road in Grantville. It was there, on the night of April 8th, that they were murdered along side their grandson.

The three were located by Richard Hawk Jr., the son of Tommy and Evelyn, and the father of Luke Hawk, whose is the Coweta County Corner. Richard had gone to the location around 8 PM after not hearing from the family members. Arriving on scene, he noticed their vehicles still in the parking area and proceeded to the building where the door was locked. He looked in and saw his son on the ground. He immediately called 911.

Grantville Police Officers responded and with help from Coweta County Fire Rescue units were able to make entry into the building. Inside they found all three members of the Hawk family deceased, as well as over 40 guns and the businesses security footage missing. Also missing was a keyring that Tommy Hawk kept with him at all times that included the keys to the store, which the suspect used to lock the store from outside. Investigators would announce shortly after that they believed the murders took place between 5:30 PM and 6 PM, just after the business closed.

Grantville quickly reached out for assistance in the investigation with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms to name a few joining in the investigation.

On April 15th, the GBI, ATF, and Grantville PD would release that they had made an arrest in the triple homicide. Jacob Christian Muse, 21, of College Park was arrested at his residence in College Park and charged with 3 counts of Malice Murder and was booked into the Coweta County Jail.

According to the warrants taken out on Muse, during the investigation agents located numerous guns stolen from Lock Stock & Barrel in Muse’s residence, with the ATF verifying the serial numbers.

As of Feb 7th, 2023, Muse has been charged with the following counts.

3 Counts of Malice Murder

3 Counts of Felony Murder

1 Count of Armed Robbery

3 Counts of Aggravated Battery

3 Counts of Aggravated Assault
